Lemme take you to Japan ~ Konnichiwa! Traditional Japanese food is collectively known as washoku. (literally, “food of Japan”) 和 (wa), which means Japan or Japanese, and it also represents harmony, and the second character 食 (shoku) means food or to eat.
so what we had for lunch, I prepared sushis , sashimi’s, cabbage salad with japanese dressing , and yakisoba stir fried noodles, yakisoba is pretty much the Japanese version of Chinese chao mian which means fried noodles , and of course miso soup ….accompanied by hot matcha tea- matcha simply means powdered tea.
I have been cooking and eating more lately. Thanks God it’s weekend and I can now indulge myself going in hair salon and have physical theraphy. I recently joined yoga session and I will continue doing it. I did loved it and the yoga teacher was really awesome. It is tough for me to live to not go for cardio because each time I have terrible headache. I feel petrified because I am not getting any younger anymore. When I feel bored I always end up in the kitchen , I think I love my kitchen than my friends (kidding aside) this time I made Meringue. I would really love to share my meringue recipe.
6 egg whites
200 grams confectioner sugar
2 drops lemon
1 pinch salt
2 drops liquid food coloring
Fridge the egg whites for 15 minutes
Preheat the oven 120 degree
Pour the egg whites in a metal bowl mixer
Whipped the egg whites using hand mixer and set in a rapid beat. Whisk 2 drops of lemon and pinch salt.
mix well till it turned foam.
devide the confectioner into 3 and add gradually with the swifter.
continuously mix until consistent is right.
Transfer the mixture to a large pastry bag. Pipe the meringue out onto the prepared baking sheet using a large tip or star tip. Or use tablespoon.
Place inside the oven for 1 hour , remember to open the oven from time to time to let the heat out and let the air comes in, a very good method to have perfect authentic french meringue.
When it’s done let it cool completely before storing.
so, here’s my perfect authentic french meringue.
Pandesal is a Filipino bread most known for all of time. The name Pan de sal comes from the spanish literally means bread of salt. Pandesal has a slight sweet taste. My family loves to eat pandesal all through out the day. In the Philippines you can simply dip in a hot coffee or hot chocolate or fill anything that you desire, jams , peanut butter , nutella, margarine, cheese and even sardines … anything that you want, I myself love pandesal with foie gras sounds odd but I love it ! ( French would hate seeing me eating foie gras with slight sweet bread ).
Thanks to my kitchen-aid Kenwood, baking is a lot easier and quicker.
• 3 cups bread flour
• 1 and 1/2 cups all purpose flour
• 1/2 cups white sugar
• 1 pouch yeast
• 3 egg yolks
• 3/4 cup milk
• 1/2 cup melted butter
• 1/2 cup water
• extra flour for kneading
Directions how to bake pandesal with mixer/kneader :
• Dissolve yeast and 1 tsp sugar stir to dissolves and let stand for 10 minutes.
• Place all the dried ingredients including yeast into a bowl and mix until all ingredients are well combined. Continue mixing until it formed dough.
• Remove the dough and transfer to oiled bowl and cover with damp cloth and let it rise for 1 hour.
• Devide the dough and rolled and cut each log into equal oval pieces.
• Lightly greased each bread and coat with bread crumbs.
• Place each bread flat side down in a baking tray
• preheat the oven 180 degrees for 30 minutes.
• Bake for 20 minutes
• Serve hot or cold and Bon àppetit !
If you plan to keep the pandesal longer. You can freeze all them up and take it out whenever you want and simply toast them in a toaster or heat them up inside the oven.
After diner, what is the next thing do you do ? Oh well for me, I want to sit on the couch and kick back but oh No ! I am oblige to clear up the table and it’s a pity we do not have dishwasher here in China, we literally tighting the belt to have one. But anyway, Thanks to my Mom I am not a laid person. I habitually maintain the house tidy and clean which is fun for me… but of course, I still allowed messes days because I am only human and it is impossible to keep our place neat with two kids .
Sitting on the couch with my husband routinely every night is one of my favorite scene for the two of us… hmm what most couple do at night ? and how would you like to spent your night with the most loving person in your life ? Did it ever cross in your mind ? … well yes for me, watching tv while eating popcorn and drink coca cola ? nah wait, my husband is a French guy and admit it or not , French yes French they never eat after meal unless they are starving hahaha really far from my culture. We Filipinos loves to eat, I myself Loves food tripping … Oh alright end ! So where am I ? Lets continue , aside from watching tv , reading books on the bed and additional ? Oh sometimes I run for 30 minutes before bed mmmm it’s a rarely thing that I work for before bed. Lets go back to my subject, sitting besides my man makes me feel so canonized and sentinelled like a Queen with her King… wanting that I live in Versailles Castle yeah you’ve heard it! (lol)… from time to time we would have a little conversation and making mementos that we will remember for all of our life.
There are some nights that I love to look up to the sky and wish to see shooting star. It’s been ages I haven’t seen shooting star , As far as I remember that was year 2000 when I last seen shooting star and it lasted a second just a blink and gone!… and of course I made some wished which some of them came true…… blah blah blah ……. I love stars , the moon , clouds, the sound of the night … And I would thank GOD for everything, for the life, how powerful HE is with everything that He created in this world. God is beyond amazing.
Nights are passing by swiftly and tomorrow is a new day and then it goes and on and on … and , and , and… and I wish there is an everlasting life.
I always love to think how we’ve met and how we held each other arms for the first time. Life is really too short to be unkind and unhappy So better make the most of it ! Love your spouse the most !
Maybe, just maybe, While you have been thinking about yourself and your own feelings, instead of negatively judging me Because you didn’t get what you want from me… I hope you realise I do not walk on this planet to please everybody. I hope you realise that we are all humans and there is no perfection in this World only GOD.
The real beauty and goodness isn’t only something you can see, it runs deep far beneath superficial surface .
