Shanghai, China

Welcome to Shanghai , we flew From Guangzhou – Shanghai had a 2 hours and half in the air and when we landed to the Airport we took our luggage and went straight to find a taxi and woahhhh I haven’t seen any crowd like that ever before, It remind me when we went in India 11 years ago at first I thought there’s only 500 meter long queue to get a taxi but then while we were moving, there are another 6 aisle queue … but I was more than happy because only 7 minutes of waiting we got a taxi… We stayed in Sofitel hotel just in Nanjing Road the center of everything …
I think Shanghai is different from the rest of China. Shanghai has its fascinating skyscrapers and people does their job well , and everything moving fast, in the restaurant you’ll get your meal like a bat out of hell than you expect. The hotel has a friendly service and we were more than satisfied. In Shanghai crowd might be a battle for some. There are too many tourist, and Chinese vacationist. The metro and pedestrians crossing is a real sardines.

Here are some list places we have visited :

Shanghai oriental pearl tower
Former french concession
Shanghai fuzhou road cultural street
The Bund city sculpture
Nanjing lu road
Yu garden
Ocean Aquarium.

The sky is blue and posters have color pink background , it matches well which regular people can’t see.

I hope you realise that we are all humans and there is no perfection in this World only GOD.

It wasn’t in my plan going home during rainy seasons in the Philippines. But I bugged out home for my health issues. Spent 3 weeks, in and out in the hospital. In my head I already had planned going in Vigan, Ilocos sur.

It was then Wednesday morning, Woke up at 7 am and we were excited. My mom was happy when we told her that we were going to bring her in Vigan. Vigan is located on the western coast island of Luzon. Vigan street has a unique architecture it is one of surviving Philippine historic cities, dating back to the 16th century.

We left around 7 o’clock in the morning. The road is long and quiet pretty far. While on our way, we paused by to have our breakfast at Leeza’s Restaurant they have the best filipino buffet, cheap price, they won’t let you down because the food is delicious, well presented buffet and spacious place. Toilet and washroom are clean.

It was lunch when we reached the town of Vigan. It took us 5 hrs drive from Baguio … we were dehydrated and starving. People offered us to eat ( Sinanglao ) It is a famous dish Vigan delicacy, It is a soup dish and has a bit sour taste and a hint of bitterness nearly similar to (Pinapaitan.)Don’t be confused with the two , sinanglao is cooked with meat beef and pinapaitan is meat goat.

The weather condition was so hot and sunny … which made us feel uncomfortable. Kids outrun in mc donalds and bought sundae ice cream.

After we had taken our lunch, We straightly quitted to the hotel to drop by all our things lugguge and snatched some minutes of nap.

We then commenced our walk, took pictures everywhere, every corner … We had seen so many things , souvenir shops , Kalesa ~ it’s a horse drawn calash ,it was introduced by spanish colonizer during 18th century. You will rarely see now a days and only used in the streets tourist areas of old cities and in some rural areas. There are several ice cream man, you must at least try their sorbetes it is creamy and tasty. Buildings are well preserved. The street is almost empty, I guess 500 meters long and 3 – 4 blocks. There are less visitors during week days. People are well mannered and friendly. After An hours , we headed to Baluarte to see their famous zoo and museum.

Back to Vigan,  the night is young and we are free hahaha joke ! Someone told us that there are two light show and we went off and watched the dancing fountain show apparently scheduled every night at 7:30 pm lasting 30 minutes each show.

The next day, the sky is clear and blue what a perfect day for us… Before anything else, my parents bought Bagnet ~ I have no idea what it is ? Bagnet ~ it is actually deep fried pork belly ( lechon kawali in Tagalog ) I am not actually fun of it, seeing bagnet I felt I would have heart attack. Instead, I bought salty longganisa garlic flavored ( longganisa is a popular sausage in the Philippines traditionally made from grounded meat and it has a several flavors. ) Don’t forget to bring cooler box with you, there are ice cube seller nearby if you want to buy some fresh meat. We then visited Bantay watchtower & St Augustine church. Inside the Bantay tower there is a man , he offered us to take some beautiful photos and he is indeed good in photography. I think he is one of the care-taker of the Bell tower He shared the story of the place and we then happily left and gave him some extra tip in return. And of course don’t miss RG Jar factory ~ Pot shop where they briefly shown us on how pots are made. We came to see and bought souvenirs in Marsha’s delicacies shop – a great shop when buying gifts. My brother bought some royal bibingka they said you shouldn’t miss out buying royal bibingka when visiting Vigan. ( bibingka is a type of rice cake. ) Time has come to end our visit , as we were driving back home , we intentionally then stopped in Nuestra Senora de la Asuncion Church and as usual took some pictures… We honestly missed some other places like the old house of the late President Marcos and many more … but sadly we runned out of time… but we happily managed to captured some beautiful views along the sea and before we knew it we were back home safely.

Japan is a perfect and a peaceful country. Japan and its people are so perfect. The food, the fashion , the lifestyle, everything is luxurious and everything is new to me. Going there felt like going in another Universe It is another world for me. Japan is heaven!

Here are the etenirary that we made during our trip in Japan. We bought the JR pass through the internet , and when we arrived Tokyo airport we went to the train station and got our JR Pass and it’s worth to buy and have it , you can go whenever and wherever you want to go anywhere in Japan.

First time ~ Japan airline oh my god I already felt like HOME! The crews were so kind, polite and it is so neat and clean, services wow oh wow perfect !

1-3 days we explored the city of Tokyo. Hey ! at the airport as soon as we landed, The first thing I noticed ~ Toilettes are damn awesome !!!!

4th day we went to see the magnificent view of the famous mount FUJI.

5th day we headed out to KYOTO through Kinsanken train (bullet train). We decided to stay there 8 days. There are a lot of things to do, uncountable places to go and so many amazing things to see. Days are long and it’s just wonderful! There is a lot of tourist as well. Some tourist were wearing kimono’s clothes and I find that they wore it elegantly. There are plenty of choices when it comes to foods. We tried and experience the Fire ramen ! and the kobe-beef hot pot. Of course the sushi’s , You must reserve a table if you want to experience the traditional Japanese restaurant. There are a lot of choices and There is no need to worry even when you are on your diet because Japanese food are so healthy. Everything are well presented, neat and clean. We watched the kimono show somewhere in the street of Gion. We witnessed the events and had our Japanese Tea afternoon with a beautiful Japanese Garden.

Other places that we’ve been ~ Osaka, Kobe, Himeji , Nara , Hiroshima , Miyajima.

In Kobe, I will never forget the Beef-kobe ! it is certainly the best beef that I have ever eaten in my whole entire life ! The beef is amazingly Tender. We had our private chef for the night The chefs cooked the meat in front of us and he ensures that the meat will stay juicy. If I am not mistaken it’s teppanyaki style. It’s pricey but we gave it a try for once in our life !

In Himeji, there is a big white castle. They called it Himeji Castle, the castle has a beautiful garden but different entrance so we had finished our visit inside the castle then we continued walking till we reached the exit and went straight away to the garden and we had seen its beautiful garden, It is well maintained and again another astonishing place.

Hiroshima – going there was quiet emotional for me … I can’t explain but my heart was devastated……

Nara – you’ll see temples and big buda’s and deers around the park.

Osaka – yeah what can I say !!!! Shop till you get drop !

Miyajima Island ~ We took the JR ferry it is free if you have JR pass you can ride the ferry without payments ~ we were so glad because we went there and another beautiful memories our eyes were filled with amazing things….

Alright for now, I can’t think of anything … My brain is ain’t friendly to tell everything but my heart filled with joy and laughter! We absolutely made a wonderful memories.

We spent our last 2 days back in Tokyo and we went to see and visited my beloved Auntie.

Japan offers beyond what normally I see. We truly enjoyed and had a blast !

Thinking of going back home seems so unreal …it’s a world that seems so far away from this perfect patch of land … but we left with our stories.
